The event combines commercial opportunities, thought leadership, networking and practical solutions, attracting thousands of senior professionals from across the sustainability and business communities.
Following significant industry recognition and continued growth, they are now looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Business Development Manager to join our growing team.

The Role
You will work across sales, lead generation and marketing activity to identify new opportunities, develop relationships and convert prospects into customers.
The role will involve a combination of stand sales, conference sponsorship, lead generation, campaign activity, networking and relationship management.
Ideally, you will have some experience within climate tech, energy, sustainability, events or a related sector, or a strong understanding of the commercial opportunities created by the net-zero transition.
Full on-the-job training and support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow up inbound leads through email, video calls and telephone conversations.
- Research and identify new prospects and decision-makers.
- Conduct outbound outreach through LinkedIn, email, telephone and other channels.
- Attend industry conferences, competitor events and networking opportunities to generate leads and build relationships.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and opportunities within the CRM.
- Manage and regularly forecast your pipeline and sales opportunities.
- Develop and nurture prospects through targeted email and newsletter campaigns.
- Support organic social media activity and audience engagement.
- Analyse campaign performance and test different approaches to improve lead generation and conversion.
- Work with external networks, communities and industry partners to generate new opportunities.
- Support the creation of marketing and communications content, including collaborating with partners and thought leaders.
- Assist with lead research, prospecting and database development.
- Monitor sustainability news, trends and developments to identify opportunities for marketing and sales activity.
- Support digital and in-person networking events throughout the year.
- Provide support at the organisation’s flagship annual event, which attracts thousands of attendees.
- Proofread company communications, articles and other materials when required.
- Undertake other relevant responsibilities as the business continues to grow.
About You
We are looking for someone who is commercially driven, curious and genuinely interested in sustainability and the transition to net zero.
You will ideally have:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience creating clear, compelling and effective communications.
- Excellent copywriting, proofreading and attention-to-detail skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Confidence working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to sales, marketing and business development.
- Strong data and analytical skills would be advantageous.
- The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a small team.
- Flexibility and enthusiasm for taking on new challenges and developing new skills.
- A genuine interest in sustainability, climate action and the positive impact businesses and communities can have on people and the planet.

This is a hands-on role within a growing organisation, so you’ll need to enjoy being active, visible and involved.
