Portsmouth | £55,000 – £70,000 + Hybrid Working + Future Equity Opportunity

Konker is recruiting for a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor to join a well-established, family-run multi-disciplinary consultancy based on the outskirts of Portsmouth.

With a team of around 24 people and exceptionally low staff turnover, this is a business built around collaboration, trust, and long-term careers.

You’ll be joining a close-knit Building Surveying team with the opportunity to step into a leadership role, help shape the future of the department, and work towards potential equity share in the business.

The practice delivers a wide range of projects across the South of England, with around 90% of work focused on MOD schemes alongside Central Government, education, local authority, and private sector clients.

You’ll work closely with Architects and M&E Engineers on technically interesting, high-quality projects.

The Role: Senior Chartered Building Surveyor 

• Lead and deliver a broad range of Building Surveying projects
• Manage MOD and public sector schemes from inception to completion
• Carry out surveys, defect diagnosis, and condition reports
• Prepare specifications, schedules of work, and contract documentation
• Oversee projects on site and manage contract administration
• Support the growth and future direction of the Building Surveying team

• MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor
• Strong project and professional surveying experience
• Confident working with public sector or defence-related projects
• Ambition to take on leadership responsibilities
