For example, the UK average salary for an Architect with less than five years of ARB registration is £41,500, rising to £45,000 for those with more than five years experience.

While salary remains one of the biggest factors when considering a move, our research highlights that professionals are looking for much more for their careers.
45% of architecture professionals told us they don’t have a clear progression path in their current role.
That’s a significant number and it highlights why career development is becoming just as important as salary when people assess their next move.

What about hybrid working?
Flexible working has also become an established part of the architecture market.
Our survey found that 61% of respondents work in a hybrid model, compared with 32% who are office-based and 7% working remotely.
For architecture practices looking to attract and retain talent, salary is therefore only one part of the overall package.
What should you be earning?
There’s no single answer.
Your salary will depend on your experience, role, technical skills, project experience, location and the type of practice you work for.
