Apply nowArchitect – Birmingham | £37,000 – £42,000
An established Birmingham architecture practice is hiring an Architect to join its team. A busy studio with 18 months to 2 years of confirmed workload already in the book, a distinctive sector specialism, and a route to make a genuine mark on the projects you take on.
The work is technically demanding, spanning specialist infrastructure alongside residential. Long-running client relationships, complex briefs, and a workload that keeps things interesting week to week.
You’ll be picking up live projects and contributing from the off.
The Architect role, day to day:
- Working live projects across a varied mix of specialist transport and residential work.
- Producing detailed design and technical drawings.
- Coordinating with senior architects, consultants and client teams.
- Seeing projects through from design into delivery, with visibility of how they land on site.
What we’re looking for in this Architect:
- Minimum 3 years of UK-based practice experience.
- Post-Part 2 stage or recently qualified, with a track record of contributing to live projects.
- Revit preferred but not essential (they’ll train candidates with some 3D modelling background).
- Confident producing drawings and picking up work with limited hand-holding.
- Strong communicator, comfortable in a collaborative studio setting.
Why this Architect role in Birmingham is worth a look:
- 18 months to 2 years of confirmed workload behind the role. Steady pipeline, no feast-and-famine cycles.
- A technically demanding workload with the kind of specialist exposure that’s tricky to get in most studios.
- Fully office-based during a 3-month probation, then flexible working with up to 2 days WFH.
- 20 days annual leave, plus 8 bank holidays and 3 office closure days between Christmas and New Year (31 in total), with a service escalation on top.
- Weekly team catch-ups and an informal Friday session keep the studio culture ticking.
- Salary £37,000 – £42,000 depending on experience.
